Oman’s push to enhance its tourism and heritage sectors has taken a significant step forward with recent discussions held in Italy. Oman’s Minister of Heritage and Tourism, Sayyid Ibrahim Said Al Busaidi, engaged with Italian officials and institutions to explore collaborations aimed at boosting tourism development, heritage preservation, and cultural exchanges between the two nations.
In a move to diversify Oman’s tourism offerings, Al Busaidi met with representatives from the Italian Alpine Club and Renco Company. These discussions focused on leveraging Italy’s expertise in mountain and adventure tourism, particularly in trail development and related services, to attract more visitors to Oman.
The minister also visited the Colosseum Archaeological Park to understand better archaeological site preservation and management. Meetings with the park’s management highlighted opportunities for both countries to exchange expertise and enhance professional capabilities in heritage management and visitor experience improvement.
As part of a broader strategy to promote Oman through sports tourism, Al Busaidi held talks with representatives from Inter Milan. These discussions aimed to explore potential collaborations that could showcase Oman’s tourism attractions to a wider, international audience.
Additionally, the visit included presentations on the Italian tourism market, identifying opportunities for Oman to strengthen its presence and appeal within the country. Meetings with Italian media organizations were also part of the agenda, focusing on showcasing Oman’s rich cultural heritage, historical sites, and diverse tourism experiences.
This initiative is part of Oman’s broader strategy to expand international partnerships. By attracting visitors from target markets and drawing on global expertise, Oman aims to develop its tourism products while safeguarding and promoting its cultural heritage.
