Oman’s Ministry of Labour has announced that the country will observe its 2026 National Day holiday on November 25 and 26, providing citizens and residents with an extended break that aligns with the weekend. This early announcement is designed to assist public and private sector organizations in planning their work schedules and activities effectively.

The National Day celebrations in Oman are marked by a variety of events and activities across the nation’s governorates, showcasing the country’s rich heritage, culture, and national identity. The announcement of the holiday dates is part of the official schedule of national and religious holidays for 2026, which also includes Sultan’s Accession Day on January 15, Al Isra’a Wal Mi’raj on January 18, Hijri New Year on June 18, and the Prophet Muhammad’s Birthday on August 27.

The dates for the significant Islamic holidays of Eid Al Fitr and Eid Al Adha will be determined and announced later, in accordance with the official declarations on the beginnings of the Hijri months.

This proactive scheduling by the Ministry of Labour not only aids in logistical planning but also highlights the importance of these cultural and religious observances in Oman’s annual calendar. By providing advance notice of these holidays, the ministry aims to facilitate better planning for both individuals and organizations, ensuring that the celebrations can be enjoyed to their fullest extent.
