Moscow – President Vladimir Putin has delivered a clear ultimatum to the United States: refrain from sending Tomahawk missiles to Ukraine, or the relationship between Moscow and Washington will be “destroyed.”
The Russian leader’s position, articulated to his top military officials, is that the use of such advanced weaponry would necessitate the direct involvement of U.S. military personnel. This, he warned, would constitute a “qualitatively new stage of escalation” that Russia will not tolerate.
This stark warning was made as Putin also celebrated what he described as significant progress on the battlefield. He claimed that his forces had taken control of almost 5,000 square kilometers of Ukrainian territory this year, giving Moscow the “complete strategic initiative.”
In a parallel development, the war has taken a covert turn. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy accused Russia of using its oil tanker fleet for more than just oil transport, alleging the vessels are being used for “reconnaissance and even sabotage activities.”
Zelenskyy projected a message of resilience, stating that Ukraine is already coordinating with its partners to address this issue. He expressed confidence that “it is entirely possible to stop” these clandestine operations.
