Anthropic Achieves $380 Billion Valuation in Record-Breaking Funding

by admin477351

The artificial intelligence startup Anthropic has completed a $30 billion funding round that values the company at $380 billion, more than twice its September valuation of $183 billion. The substantial increase underscores growing investor enthusiasm for companies developing advanced AI systems.
Singapore’s sovereign wealth fund GIC and hedge fund Coatue Management led the capital raise, which is among the largest private fundraising transactions in history. Choo Yong Cheen of GIC praised Anthropic as the definitive leader in enterprise AI applications.
Anthropic’s financial results justify the elevated valuation, with annualized revenue reaching $14 billion. The company has achieved tenfold revenue growth annually for three consecutive years, demonstrating exceptional market demand and operational execution.
A major contributor to recent growth has been Claude Code, the AI-powered coding assistant that became widely available in May 2025. This product has resonated particularly well with enterprise customers seeking productivity enhancements in software development.
The company projects significant operational improvements ahead, forecasting cash burn will decline to roughly one-third of revenue in 2026 and just 9% by 2027. Anthropic targets break-even status by 2028, potentially reaching profitability before its main competitor.
