Oman is actively seeking to bolster its economic ties with Tanzania, as officials from both countries engage in discussions to enhance trade and investment partnerships. A delegation from Oman’s Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion recently held talks with Tanzanian government officials and business representatives, focusing on potential areas for expanded collaboration.
Ibtisam Ahmed Al Farooji, Undersecretary of the ministry for Investment Promotion, emphasized that Oman views Tanzania as a significant economic partner in East Africa. These discussions primarily targeted expanding economic relations, identifying investment opportunities, and fostering private-sector partnerships between the two nations.
The Omani delegation pointed to their country’s strategic location, robust infrastructure, and attractive investment incentives, such as the Golden Residency Programme, as key factors supporting long-term international business partnerships. This effort is part of Oman’s broader strategy to strengthen its economic connections across Africa, leveraging its longstanding ties with Tanzania.
Both nations explored opportunities for Omani companies to increase their presence in African markets while simultaneously connecting Tanzanian businesses with investment possibilities in Oman.
