Oman and the United States are exploring ways to enhance their economic and investment cooperation, focusing on expanding trade and boosting Omani exports while attracting American investment. This development comes after a meeting between Oman’s Minister of Economy, Dr. Khamis Saif Al Jabri, and representatives of the Oman Trade Office in the United States during their visit to Oman.
During the discussions, the parties reviewed the trade office’s achievements and future plans, highlighting the challenges and opportunities for expanding economic ties between the two nations. A key topic was increasing market access for Omani products in the United States, as well as drawing American investors to Oman. Additionally, the meeting aimed to identify new areas for trade collaboration.
The bilateral trade between Oman and the United States reached approximately OMR 555.26 million by the end of July 2026. Major exports from Oman to the U.S. include chemicals and aluminium, while American exports to Oman primarily consist of vehicles and transport equipment.
The dialogue between the two countries underscores a mutual interest in strengthening economic ties and exploring new avenues for cooperation. As both nations look to the future, expanding trade and investment remains a priority on their economic agenda.
